We’re officially in the thick of summer beer season! To celebrate, we’ve re-opened registrations for the Canada Beer Cup! If you missed entering your top quality and fan-favourite Canadian craft beer, you still can for a limited time. Whether your beer takes home a trophy or not, all beers will get valuable tasting notes from at least three judges immediately following the Awards Presentation, so everyone is a winner. Again this year, Stephen Beaumont is hand-picking judges from across Canada, the United States, and Europe. Enter Canada’s only national craft beer competition run by the industry, for the industry, today!
While you’ve been busy making and selling beer and proudly serving it in your tap rooms and patios, the CCBA has been busy getting ready for the craft brewing industry’s federal pre-budget submission that’s due on August 4th. We’re also staying on top of opposing the government’s lack of response to the CCSA low risk drinking guidelines and Senator Brazeau’s Bill C-254 which is calling for warning labels on all beverage alcohol, including beer. If you have any questions or concerns about this, feel free to reach out to me here.
I hope you had an enjoyable July long weekend, and please remember to take advantage of our re-opened Canada Beer Cup registrations. I’m looking forward to seeing all your entries and a successful July for all of us!
Cheers,
Christine Comeau
